Uber offers holiday-themed party buses in some cities — including Chicago LOS ANGELES (KTLA) - As the holiday season approaches, Uber is giving customers a chance to ride in style to parties, festivities and gatherings. Beginning Monday through Sunday, Dec. 17, customers can book a Festive Fleet with Uber, a holiday-themed party charter bus filled with karaoke, festive lights, Christmas decor and photo props to help stir up the holiday spirit. Uber offering festive, holiday-themed party buses in LA (Uber)The holiday-themed charter trips will be available in Los Angeles; New York; Washington, D.C.; Miami, and Chicago. Riders who book a charter up until Sunday will receive 10% off with promo code “FESTIVE 10.” In addition to the holiday party buses, there are several other special holiday offerings from Uber, including the Gift Hub in the Uber Eats app to easily find and send gifts, Robot Reindeers that will be delivering food during the month of December, and free package returns using Uber Connect.

(WFLA) — Florida-based grocer Publix will soon be welcoming customers in a new state.The company announced that it will be opening its first store in Kentucky on Wednesday, Jan. 10, in Louisville.Publix said the new 55,701-square-foot store will have a drive-thru Publix Pharmacy and an adjacent 3,200-square-foot Publix Liquors offering beer, wine and spirits. Kentucky will have the first Publix Liquors location outside the state of Florida. High school basketball coach recovering after assault; player, brother arrested WILLIS, Texas (KIAH) -- A high school basketball player and his brother have been arrested after they allegedly attacked his basketball coach following a game last week, according to Texas authorities. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, the alleged assault happened after the Willis High School boys basketball team played against Conroe High School in Conroe, Texas, about 40 miles north of Houston. After returning to Willis High School from the game, a player and his family confronted the coach. The conversation allegedly escalated, and the 17-year-old player reportedly punched the coach in the face. At the same time, authorities reported that his 22-year-old brother began assaulting the coach. Another coach and bystanders broke up the fight, and the family left the scene. (NEWS10) -- An incarcerated man at the Saratoga County Correctional Facility was arrested for assaulting a corrections officer at the facility. He was remanded back to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
