Toronto police are searching for a 29-year-old woman wanted for a pair of assaults on the TTC over the last three months. Police say Nimo Umar Gayad of Toronto allegedly assaulted another woman aboard a subway train in the area of Bloor Station just before 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2022. Then on Mar. 26, 2023, just after 11:30 a.m., she allegedly assaulted a second woman aboard the 41 Keele bus in the area of Keele Street and Donald Avenue. Gayad is facing nine charges including three counts of assault, assault with a weapon and aggravated assault. MANILA, Philippines (AP) — A ferry carrying about 250 passengers and crew caught fire between Philippine islands and at least 12 people were killed with seven still missing, a provincial governor said Thursday.Many of those rescued had jumped off the ferry in panic at the height of the fire and were plucked from the sea by the coast guard, navy, another ferry and local fishermen, said Gov. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department is searching for a man accused of attacking a man in downtown Austin last month, according to an APD news release.At approximately 2:30 a.m., Feb. 27, personnel with Austin-Travis County EMS were flagged down by someone who reported an unidentified man was assaulted in the northeast corner of East Seventh Street and Trinity Street, the release said.According to police, the victim had severe injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital. Furthermore, his injuries included multiple skull fractures, swelling of the head and severe brain trauma.ATCEMS medics contacted APD, and an investigation into the incident began, the release said.Police said the man who attacked the victim was accompanied by two other men.
