Man killed in daytime shooting in Keelesdale neighbourhood

A man is dead after being shot in the Keelesdale neighbourhood of the city. Police say they were called to an apartment building on Clearview Heights, near Eglinton Avenue West and Black Creek Drive, just before 5 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a trauma centre in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead. CHICAGO — Four teenagers were shot, one fatally, in multiple overnight shootings in Chicago.According to police, two boys, 15 and 16, were walking on the street just minutes before midnight Friday near the 3700 block of South Wabash Avenue when a group of five to six men approached and fired shots at them. Police said the 15-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to the left foot and was transported to Comers Hospital in good condition. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is investigating where a body was recovered Saturday from Lady Bird Lake near Longhorn Dam. Austin-Travis County EMS said it was called to the scene at 1:18 p.m. where an adult was pronounced dead. PREVIOUS: City to focus on safety near Rainey Street after recent deaths More information is expected at an APD press conference Saturday evening. Longhorn Dam is not next to the area where the city increased safety measures following two recent drownings near Lady Bird Lake and Rainey Street. Police said there is no evidence of foul play in these deaths. Increased patrols began last weekend. APD Assistant Chief Jeff Greenwalt told KXAN officers performed standard downtown duties like breaking up fights and, in one instance, helped a group find their friend they hadn't been able to find for a couple of hours.This is a developing story. ST. LOUIS - A tornado warning has expired for many counties west of Missouri, but severe weather threats remain, primarily in the form of hail and thunderstorms. St. Louis City and St. Louis County could see high winds and hail head its way in the 6 p.m. hour after some threats intensified out west in the 4 p.m. hour.
