Trial for man charged with assaulting an older man while in confederate costume begins WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) –  Jury selection began Monday for a man charged with assaulting an older man while dressed as a Confederate soldier outside the Georgetown courthouse, where there is a Confederate monument, according to police documents.Lee Rader Wallace, 67, was charged with assaulting a 66-year-old man who was attending a demonstration related to the statue on April 3, 2021, per Rader Wallace’s arrest warrant affidavit.The victim told police he was listening to a speaker talking about the monument and went to read the inscription at the bottom of the statue. While reading, he felt someone shove him and was forced him into a seated position. Investigations continue into death on Greenpoint Ave ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Rotterdam Police Department has confirmed that Skylar Pettit, 24, was located deceased inside a residence on Greenpoint Ave on July 21. Police were conducting a welfare check. Rocky Mountain goat kid dies suddenly at the Denver Zoo A Rocky Mountain goat kid died unexpectedly at the Denver Zoo Saturday, the second goat to die at the zoo in about a four-month span.Salix, who was born at the zoo on May 30, was found by animal care specialists on Friday “behaving abnormally with a repetitive chewing motion and lethargy, and he was less responsive to his care team,” zoo officials said in a statement.After a veterinary assessment, a “supportive treatment” was undertaken, but Salix did not respond and later died. A postmortem exam was conducted but initial findings were inconclusive. A variety of disease screening tests will be conducted to “better understand what happened to Salix,” according to the zoo.We are devastated to share that Salix, our Rocky Mountain goat kid, unexpectedly passed away on July 22.
