The remnants of civilizations that fascinate historians and travelers are called ghost towns, and there are hundreds of them in the Centennial State.A member of the Ghost Town Club of Colorado, Joan Fields described ghost towns as "places all over the state that, for whatever reason, the community failed at some point in time." History of Wild West lives on at Central City Cemetery It's nearly impossible to count exactly how many ghost towns there are in Colorado. People created towns around railroads, agriculture and mining. But when those people heard the grass was greener on the other side, they would literally pack up their things and go, leaving much behind.A book written by Perry Eberhardt in 1959 called Guide to the Colorado Ghost Towns and Mining Camps lists over 700 ghost towns in Colorado.By comparison, a l...Miami-Dade, Broward celebrates Star Wars Day with themed events, movie screenings

BERLIN — French President Emmanuel Macron plans to visit Germany in early July against the backdrop of Franco-German disagreements over key policy areas like finances, energy and how to handle China.Macron is expected to arrive in Germany on July 2 and stay until July 4, with the highlight of the visit being a state banquet in the Bellevue Palace in Berlin hosted by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on July 3, according to three officials familiar with the preparations of the visit. The French president is also scheduled to meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss European and international politics. The planned state visit comes at a sensitive time. The joint Cabinet meeting finally took place in January. While the two leaders...ECB opts for smaller hike in inflation battle

FRANKFURT — The European Central Bank raised interest rates by 0.25 percentage points to 3.25 percent Thursday, slowing the pace after three straight 50 basis point hikes in its most aggressive tightening cycle on record.“The inflation outlook continues to be too high for too long. Headline inflation has declined over recent months, but underlying price pressures remain strong,” it said. “At the same time, the past rate increases are being transmitted forcefully to euro area financing and monetary conditions, while the lags and strength of transmission to the real economy remain uncertain.”In a possible compromise with hawks on the Govern...White House unveils an AI plan ahead of meeting with tech CEOs
