ST. LOUIS – With the holidays just around the corner, many companies are adding seasonal positions. An explosive device that detonated inside of a large teddy bear led to the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of drugs, weapons and ammunition.According to an Instagram post by the San Bernardino Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call from a local business owner who said he was told by witnesses that an explosive device had gone off in the parking lot in front of their business. The exact date or location of the incident was not released. Surveillance footage from the scene captures the suspect exiting their vehicle and placing the explosive device, identified by police as a giant teddy bear, several parking spots away from their car. A wildfire that erupted in rural Riverside County and scorched several acres east of Temecula appeared to be slowing down Tuesday afternoon.According to Cal Fire, the Stanley Fire started shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in the 46000 block of Stanley Road north of Aguanga. “[The fire] is burning in medium fuels with a moderate rate of spread,” Cal Fire said on social media at the time the blaze began. 44-Year-Old Man Dies after a Semi-Trailer CollisionLEWIS COUNTY, WA (October 17, 2023) – On Tuesday afternoon, police responded to a fatal collision that claimed the life of Bert Holmes.The incident happened on September 26th just before 2:00 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5.According to the Washington State Patrol, 44-year-old Bert Holmes was entering north on I-15 via Labree Road when it collided with a semi-trailer driven by a 23-year-old man headed northbound.Furthermore, the investigation showed that the semi-trailer pulled over to the right shoulder of the road and blocked the lane when Holmes entered the lanes and rear-ended the semi-trailer.In addition, the authorities stated that Holmes was not wearing his safety seatbelt during the time of the incident.Meanwhile, the driver of the semi-trailer did not obtain any injuries from the collision. 35-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Bicycle Accident near Wilmington AvenueCARSON, CA (October 17, 2023) – Sunday morning, a bicycle accident claimed the life of Solis Anthony on the 405 Freeway.The incident occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway near the Wilmington Avenue off-ramp.According to reports, the bicyclist was traveling southbound and transitioned from the right shoulder into the slow lane, where a 2014 Volvo struck the cyclist. Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Cactus RoadPHOENIX, AZ (October 17, 2023) – Saturday evening, a pedestrian accident on 19th Avenue claimed the life of one woman.On October 14th, around 6:30 p.m., authorities were dispatched to the scene near Cactus Road. According to initial reports, a woman was struck by a northbound vehicle while crossing 19th Avenue mid-block.Emergency medical responders located the woman with severe injuries.
