Austin police look for new leads in deadly September 2022 stabbing AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department is still asking for the community's help gathering leads in a deadly stabbing that happened in downtown Austin last September. Man killed in downtown Austin stabbing identified; video released of suspects On Sept. 4, 2022, at approximately 2:34 a.m., D’Andre Isaiah Day, 27, flagged down police near East Sixth Street and Brazos Street after he was stabbed. Day was taken to a hospital, where he later died. APD is holding a press conference on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with Day's brother. The conference will be streamed in the live player above and on KXAN's Facebook page. An investigation found Day and a friend were in a fight with three other unknown men. One of the three men stabbed Day, according to APD. Officers believe this was an isolated incident and a random meeting. 24% of Missouri under 'extreme drought' conditions - Report MISSOURI - More than 98% of Missouri is experiencing some level of drought, with nearly a quarter of the state under extreme drought conditions, according to the United States Drought Monitor.Current drought conditions, dated July 4, show three states suffering widespread extreme drought: Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri. Troopers to 'aggressively' enforce speed limit along I-44 Friday ST. LOUIS -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that they will be "aggressively" enforcing the speed limit Friday along I-44 in St. Louis and Franklin Counties. The troopers plan on being very visible and will be looking for drivers breaking the law.Officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department conducted a similar campaign Wednesday. They handed out 166 tickets during 75 traffic stops along Delmar and Kingshighway. Many of the tickets were for speeding but other violations include expired plates, no insurance, no seatbelt, and suspended licenses. What is causing the mysterious St. Louis County hum? The police department plans to conduct more of the high visibility traffic enforcement campaigns in the future at various locations. The shooting happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Jendale Court. The St. Louis County Police Department reports that Peter Cooper, 35, of Florissant, died in the shooting.
