She was barely able to walk, and the toll of giving birth to her two sons exacerbated her symptoms.Shortly thereafter, Angela was told by doctors that she would need the aforementioned spinal fusion surgery. This story is one in a series featuring trips down memory lane with longtime Casa Bonita fans and former employees who shared their fondest tales with The Denver Post. The restaurant and entertainment venue in Lakewood is expected to reopen in May.“South Park” character Kyle Broflovski once described Casa Bonita as “the Disneyland of Mexican restaurants.” And after spending months talking to longtime fans and former employees, it’s clear that the pink palace truly is the most magical place in Colorado. That ethos is due in no small part to the live entertainment and experiential amenities onsite, which also resemble Disneyland on a small scale, shrunk down to fit perfectly in a strip mall near Denver’s urban core. The restaurant now also has celebrity owners, “South Park” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, giving it a dose of Hollywood sheen. In anticipation of Casa Bonita’s reopening sometime this month (official date is TBA), we recently polled The Denver Post’s readers about thei...Aerosmith announces farewell tour that includes Denver show

Members of the Writers Guild of America are on strike after they could not reach a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which consists of production companies and Hollywood studios. The writers say that current management proposals do nothing to address changes in the work environment that make economic and working conditions far worse for writers. Following Monday night's decision to strike, the WGA issued a statement. "'The companies' behavior has created a gig economy inside a union workforce, and their immovable stance in this negotiation has betrayed a commitment to further devaluing the profession of writing," the statement read. It also gets worse.KTLA 5's Sam Rubin gave some insight as to how some writers are treated. "Imagine working on a show like 'Saturday Night Live' and being asked to come in to help punch up the show, but being asked to come in for just one day," Sam explained. The WGA touched on this in their statement. Pornhub.com has denied Utah residents access to its site in response to the state's new age verification law, KTLA's sister station KTVX is reporting.Utahns who attempt to go to the site will instead be driven to a black page with a statement from the site's management and a short video featuring adult actress Cherie DeVille explaining why the site cannot be accessed.Earlier this year, the Utah Legislature and Gov. Spencer Cox passed and signed Senate Bill 287, which requires adult sites to use some sort of age-verification system to keep underage viewers from seeing pornographic content. The bill passed unanimously. The bill was based, in part, on a similar piece of legislation passed in Louisiana. The main difference, however, is that unlike in Louisiana, Utah's digital ID system does not currently allow for online verifications. Pornhub, for its part, argues in its statement that "giving your ID card every time you want to visit an adult platform is not the most effective solution...Gregory Allen Wood, Alicia Del Carmen Escobar Dead Following Head-On Collision on Highway 99 [Sutter County, CA]

Glen Matlock Parties at the Roxy: Before we pulled up onto the Sunset Strip and entered the famous Roxy Theatre, we found ourselves two miles away at the Jail Guitar Doors‘s CAPO (Community Arts Programming & Outreach) Center on 3rd and Fairfax, to celebrate MC5 guitarist Wayne Kramer‘s 75th birthday.Jail Guitar Doors is a nonprofit started by Wayne and his wife Margaret Kramer, “which offers creative alternatives to vulnerable, under-resourced populations through music education and arts activities. The programs help marginalized youth develop their talents and capacities; disrupt systemic root causes of inequality, poverty, and racism; and advocates for families and communities impacted by the carceral system.”A noble cause, by a good man. We saw JGD teachers Cole and Laena perform and then had to leave for the Roxy.
