A federal lawsuit filed Tuesday against Ramsey County and sheriff’s office correctional officers alleges they failed to report or give treatment to a man who had suffered a “serious and progressively worsening brain hemorrhage” while jailed last year, resulting in his death nearly three weeks later.The 10-page civil rights lawsuit, filed by attorneys Richard Student and Steve Meshbesher on behalf of Dillon Bakke’s family, alleges the county and four correctional officers violated Bakke’s right to adequate medical treatment under the Fourteenth Amendment.“It was avoidable,” Student said Tuesday. “Had they done anything, they would have been able to get Dillon medical care, they would have saved his life. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A local man who was attacked with a sword outside an Albany homeless shelter in 2022 is using his experience to help others. Jon Romano brought donations to the IPH Community Connections Homeless Shelter Tuesday morning to mark one year since the attack.Romano sustained serious injuries in the attack. Romano previously served more than 15 years in prison for bringing a gun into Columbia High School in East Greenbush in 2004. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Detectives are investigating an accidental death involving a St. Louis County employee.The incident occurred just before 9:10 a.m. near the intersection of Halls Ferry and St. Cyr roads, according to Sgt. Tracy Panus, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis County Police Department.Officers responded to a call for a reported injury and arrived to find a man pinned beneath a large tractor mower that had fallen into a body of water. Authorities in Orange County are involved in what appears to be a standoff with an alleged armed man outside of a Hobby Lobby store. As a violent brawl broke out at a mall in Torrance, one man is being hailed as a hero for saving a young boy being pummeled by teenagers.The fight broke out at the Del Amo Fashion Center on Sunday night where a large group of teens began physically targeting one victim.It all happened very quickly when Maurice Hardy, a good Samaritan, decided to jump in and save the boy.“I’ve got two little brothers and if I see something like that happening, I would want somebody to help them,” Hardy said. “So I thought, ‘I got to help them.'
