WATCH: Fast-moving wildfire breaks out in Riverside County, 600 acres and growing Firefighters are battling a large fast-moving wildfire that erupted in Moreno Valley on Friday.Named the “Rabbit Fire,” the brush fire is located near the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Jack Rabbit Trail, in the community of Lakeview. It was initially reported as 20 acres and burning with a rapid rate of spread just shortly before 4 p.m. The flames later spread to around 600 acres and are continuing to grow, Cal Fire officials confirmed. Zero percent containment was reported around 6 p.m.Located in a grass and brush-heavy area, a private ranch property is being threatened by the moving flames. (KRON) -- Santa Cruz's wild surfing sea otter has attracted many fans with its mischievous pirate-esque passion for stealing surfboards. The fuzzy longboard larcenist was photographed swimming up to surfers, commandeering surfboards, and even catching a few waves. Wildlife officials tried catching the 5-year-old sea otter earlier this week near Steamer Lane. The crew launched a boat, placed a board as bait in the water, and deployed a decoy surfer. Pedestrian killed after being struck by Caltrain in Palo Alto (KRON) -- A person died after being struck by a Caltrain Friday afternoon in Palo Alto, public transit officials confirmed. A southbound train struck an individual at Stanford Station around 5:40 p.m.The individual who was struck was a "trespasser," according to Caltrain's Twitter.As of 6 p.m., train service in the area is stopped. The train had approximately 150 passengers on board, but no other injuries were reported, officials said.This marks Caltrain's fifth fatality of 2023. The victim's identity has not been revealed.
