(KRON) -- A Santa Cruz beach was evacuated on Memorial Day after shots rang out, the Santa Cruz Police Department said. Two people were arrested in connection with the shooting, and nobody was injured. SCPD was called to Cowell Beach, a popular surf spot next to Municipal Wharf and near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, at 6:10 p.m. The report said two people were shooting a handgun near the west end of the beach. The officers evacuated the area, and both men were detained without incident. An SCPD investigation revealed that the two men were shooting at an empty wine bottle that they had drank earlier. Police recovered a 9mm handgun. SCPD says it is a ghost gun.The suspects were identified as Roy Miller, 43, of San Jose, and Kiiren Pumphery Jenkins, 31, of San Jose. HOT SULPHUR SPRINGS, Colo. (KDVR) — The search is ongoing for a kayaker who went missing over the weekend.Ari Harms was last seen on Sunday, according to the Grand County Sheriff's Office. He's described as a white man in his 30s.The host at the Pioneer Park campground reported Monday afternoon that the camper's vehicle was still on site beyond the scheduled checkout. Boston police have made an arrest in connection with a shootout in Roxbury last week, Police Commissioner Michael Cox announced Tuesday. Surveillance video from a nearby liquor store captured the moment shots rang out on Shawmut Avenue near a park and a playground on Wednesday. In the video, one man was seen walking up the street with his hands in his pockets before pulling out a gun and opening fire into a crowd of people. Another man was later seen coming out of a building and shooting back. Several people were on the sidewalk in the area when the shooting took place, including a young child who would be seen running for cover behind a nearby car. The Massachusetts Water Resource Authority has recommended a damaged wind turbine on Deer Island be taken down, one day after a piece of a turbine blade appeared to fly off the structure on Monday. The out-of-service turbine suddenly started spinning on Monday and continued spinning until officials said a contractor was able to insert a braking mechanism. In an update on Tuesday, the MWRA said the turbine suffered “significant damage.”“MWRA believes that the best course of action is to take it down so it no longer poses a danger,” the authority said in its update.While officials said staff are “working to expedite removal,” the MWRA said it may take “a couple of days” to begin work to remove the turbine. Public access to the area around the turbine on Deer Island will remain closed until the turbine is taken down, officials said. A man who previously lived in the North End was recently arrested at his home in New Jersey in connection with a string of sexual assaults in Boston dating back more than 15 years, officials announced on Tuesday. Boston Police Commissioner, Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden and FBI Boston Special Agent in Charge Joe Bonavolonta said the man, identified as Matthew Nilo, was allegedly responsible for four different attacks in the Terminal Street area of Charlestown between 2007 and 2008.
